  Don’t miss Litchfield County’s oldest and best country fair.  Friday the 5th features mini horse pulls and the Wamogo Lumberjack Team, plus a classic car show.  The Pisgah Mountain Primitives and historic reenactors are there all weekend.  Visit the early Americana displays and country store. The Road Runners will perform on Friday from 4:30 to 8:30; The Tradesmen Band on Saturday 2 to 8; and on Sunday, The Sidekick Band from 1 to 5, all on the Gazebo Bandstand.  Enjoy The Connecticut Bristol Old Time Fiddlers Sunday morning.  And enter the Women’s Skillet Throw or men’s hay bale toss contests.  The Harwinton Fair is Friday the 5th from 4 to 9 pm, new hours on Saturday the 6th: 8 am to 8 pm, and Sunday the 7th:  8 to 5 at the fairgrounds, 150 Locust Road, off Route 4. Fall favorites are now in season at Lyman Orchards. It’s time to Pick Your Own Apples and Pumpkins. Spend a day in the country and pick from some of your favorite Apple varieties and pumpkins of all shapes, sizes and colors.  Peaches, Pears, Asian Pears are all at the peak of their seasons. Waltz through this year’s Dancing with the Stars designed Corn Maze.  Over 4-acres of towering corn and two and a half miles of pathways. Getting lost has never been this much fun!  It’s all in a fun fall visit to Lyman Orchards, Connecticut’s Sweet Spot.  Lymanorchards.com.
